Instructor Bio:
What do you do at the shop?
Sales floor lead. I get to open most of the boxes and display products on the floor. If you bring in a quilt to coordinate fabrics I'm happy to pull down every bolt until you?re happy.
When did you start quilting?
I helped my mom?s quilting group make tie quilts on a wood frame my father built. The first solo quilt was a king size log cabin with Quilt in a Day book, I hand quilted it and gifted it to my new in-laws. They are still using it 35 years later.
What is your favorite part of quilting?
Picking a pattern, picking the fabric, cutting the pieces, sewing different blocks, doing the quilting on the longarm. Oh the projects I?ve started! Challenging myself to use the fabric that is not flying out the shop door.
Least favorite part of quilting?
Not a fan of foundation paper piecing. It?s a technique that is beyond my brain.
